At first, Posankka was a floating on the Aurajoki river, since its installation in 1999, later it removed to the Caribian hotel. Latest installation near the campus area of the University of Turku and the Turku Student Village, makes it more famous and an icon of Turku for the last ten years(since 2001). According to local news site and wiki, Posankka has been wearing a large size Santa Clause hat in every winter by the students of its native campus.
